Studio Etiquette

Arrive 10-15 mins before class.

5 minute late policy - Out of respect for the class, studio door will be locked 5 minute after the start of class.

To cancel: please do so at least 12 hours before class starts to allow others to sign up and for those on the waitlist to be added. If not or if you are absent, a late cancellation fee of 15$ will be charged to your account for contract memberships, and the class will be lost for class pack memberships.

No personal items, cell phones or bags in the studio. We have lockers in the change rooms. Lock rentals available if needed.

Bring a water bottle. We have filtered water for purchase, or tap water for free available at the studio if needed.

Please wear appropriate and comfortable clothing.

Client Liability Agreement for Class Bookings and Package Purchases

When booking a class or purchasing a package, you are automatically signing up and agreeing to this client contract:

DESCRIPTION AND OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT 

In exchange for payment of the membership fee, package fee, event fee or class fee and immediately upon signing this contract, House of Gia agrees to allow the member to attend all scheduled classes in a normal and safe manner:  

  • Our regular classes are given in a room at 20°C. 

  • Our hot classes are given in a hot room at 32-40°C with a humidity level between 20% and 40%. 

  • We remind you that it is always preferable to consult a physician before embarking on a new exercise program. 

  1. The member declares that they are physically fit to undertake physical training. They must consult their own physician before beginning any training or course offered. They acknowledge that their health and safety are their own responsibility, and there is a risk of injury despite being in good physical condition and receiving instructions and guidance. 

  2. The member declares that they possess they are physically to safely engage in hot or room temp fitness classes (yoga, pilates, barre, reformer). They recognize that their health and safety is entirely their own responsibility, and there is a risk of injury despite being in good physical condition and receiving instructions and guidance. Prior to commencing any training or course, they agree to seek guidance from their personal physician. Furthermore, they acknowledge the anticipated heated conditions of the room and the potential hazard of a slippery floor during practice. In full awareness of these circumstances, the member voluntarily assumes all associated risks, dangers, and potential for injury. 

  3. The member acknowledges that an instructor may make physical contact to correct posture during sessions. The member grants explicit permission for such corrections to occur at any time. The member commits to informing the instructor prior to each class if they prefer not to receive physical adjustments. Additionally, the member agrees to disclose any illnesses, physical limitations, chronic pain, injuries, or changes in health status to the instructor before each class and to keep House of Gia informed of any updates regarding their health. 

  4. The member acknowledges that certain risks are associated with participation in these physical and training activities and agrees to hold House of Gia and its representatives harmless from any cause of action that may arise from the negligence of the member or his or her guests. Members are solely responsible for their personal belongings. 

  5. Furthermore, the member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the House of Gia, its directors, shareholders, officers, employees, and all others associated with this business from any and all actions and/or legal proceedings and hold them harmless from and against any and all claims, actions or suits, costs, expenses (including legal fees and other expenses), damages and liabilities arising and/or resulting from the enrollment in any classes offered by the House of Gia. This disclaimer is legally binding upon the estate, family, heirs, representatives and any other person assigned to represent the member. 

  6. The descriptive list of each membership, package, event or class is always available at on our website and phone app. 

  7.  This membership, package, event or class may not be assigned, transferred, or resold in any way.

  8. Class size is limited. Reservations secure one place in the class, while remaining places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If a student or member presents themselves without having reserved a place and none is available, House of Gia will not be held responsible.

  9. Opening hours and class times are subject to change with notices posted in the center, on the website or social platforms. 

  10. As a condition of participation, the member agrees to provide their own mat for use during sessions.  

  11. As a condition for participation, the member must wear grip socks during reformer pilates sessions. Furthermore, if the member does not already have grip socks for reformer pilates, they must purchase them to use during their sessions. Members will not be allowed to participate in the class if they do not have grip socks. 

  12. The member must comply with all policies mentioned at the facility, including principles of hygiene (e.g. sweating and smelly clothing). Members must wear socks and/or the sandals provided from the center at all times, no bare feet or shoes are allowed in the studio. Members must respect other members, teachers and staff in a manner that does not embarrass or assault them.  

  13. Out of respect for the practice and the people in the room, it is not possible to enter a class five minutes after the class start time. If you arrive at the studio in-person past the five minute window, you will have your credit reimbursed, but you may not enter the class.

    For the smooth running of the class, please make every effort to be on your mat when the class starts. Five minutes of relaxation before class is highly recommended to let the heat naturally warm up your muscles, release muscular tension and catch your breath.

  14. We have a 12-hour cancellation policy. If a member or student does not cancel their reserved class at least 12 hours before the scheduled time, they will forfeit their class credit. For those on a subscription or membership, a late cancellation fee of $15 will apply.

  15. All memberships and passes, are not refundable or creditable under any circumstances. It cannot be transferred. 

  16. In the event of a rejected cheque or disputed credit card payment, a $30 fee will be charged by the merchant to compensate for bank charges incurred‍. 

  17. For credit card payments, if the amount due cannot be debited by the due date, we will attempt to debit the amount weekly until full payment is made, including the rejection fee. Rejection fees are $10 each. We will contact the member to inform them of the situation. 

  18. The member is responsible for any damage to House of Gia's property resulting from their negligence, as well as any damage to the equipment resulting from unsafe, abusive or careless use. 

  19. The member acknowledges that House of Gia assumes no responsibility for the loss, damage, unauthorizes use, theft or injury resulting from any personal property or objects belonging to the member or their guests. 

  20. Members are aware that the House of Gia is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items in locker rooms or the rest of the center. The House of Gia has lock rentals if needed.  

  21. The member declares that they have read House of Gia's rules and regulations and agree to abide by them. In the event of failure to do so, House of Gia reserves the right to terminate the membership, package, event or class without refund or to prohibit any further attendance. 

  22. In this Contract, masculine terms include feminine and vice versa, depending on the context.  

  23. By accepting our waiver, I, the member/student confirm that my intentions are none other than to train. I am aware that any partial or total copying of the House of Gia program, or any offer of outside and competitive employment to our teachers, for commercial purposes constitutes fraud liable to prosecution. 

  24. By signing this waiver, I grant House of Gia the irrevocable right to photograph and record me during any fitness activities or events at the studio. These images and recordings may be used for promotional purposes, including social media, websites, and advertisements, without compensation. I understand that all rights to these images and recordings belong to House of Gia, and I waive any right to inspect or approve the use of my likeness. I release House of Gia from any claims related to the use of these images and recordings.

TERMINATION OF CONTRACT 

Information required by the Consumer Protection Act 

(Contract concluded by a merchant operating a health studio) 

The consumer may cancel this contract without charge or penalty before the merchant has begun to perform its principal obligation by sending the attached form or other written notice to that effect to the merchant. If the merchant has begun to perform its principal obligation, the consumer may terminate this contract within a period equal to 1/10 of the term of this contract by sending the attached form or other written notice to that effect to the beginning. This period begins when the merchant begins to perform its principal obligation. In this case, the merchant may only demand payment of one tenth of the total contract price. The contract is cancelled, without further formality, as soon as the form or notice is sent. Within 10 days of termination of the contract, the merchant must return the money owed to the consumer. Consumers should consult sections 197 to 214 of the Consumer Protection Act (chapter P-40.1) and, if necessary, contact the Office de la protection. 

I have read all pages of this contract and acknowledge receipt of a copy. I declare that I am in adequate physical condition or that I have consulted a physician to personally ensure that I can participate in this type of physical exercise. I authorize the merchant to obtain or exchange personal information with any personal information agency for the purpose of establishing or verifying my financial situation, if applicable. 

Penalty charges 

I understand and agree that in the event of termination of the contract, a penalty fee of 60% of the remaining months and or classes will apply. I also understand that if I cancel my contract, House of Gia may suffer damages as a result.
